‘Confirms Peter Hain’s reputation as a brilliant writer of fiction…I heartily recommend this book which within a dramatic tale successfully combines the exploration of the reality of today’s South Africa and outstanding issues for the island of Ireland’ Bob Newland, Morning Star

 Corruption, Assassination, Extinction…

In the South African veld elephants are being callously killed for their valuable tusks by vicious poaching gangs as part of a high-level political conspiracy.  The stakes are high: rescuing a young democracy, bringing the poachers to justice and saving the elephant herds from extinction.

Leading the fight is the Veteran, a seasoned anti-apartheid freedom fighter and his young activist protégé Thandi, with ranger Mkhize and the mysterious Sniper alongside.  As they fight to save the animals, they confront ruthless killers, wholesale money-laundering and political corruption.

‘Lifts the lid on the ongoing threat to the endangered species’  Daily Telegraph on the Rhino Conspiracy

‘Tense, unflinching and viscerally evocative’ Sarah Sultoon

‘A gripping page-turner’ Marisa McGlinchey

‘Fascinating, riveting, authentic’ Luthando Dziba
